What to do when the kids are begging for homemade cookies and it’s too hot to handle the oven? We turn to our no-bake goodies to curb the craving. We call them ‘Chocolate Energy Balls’ in the g&b households, which goes down a lot better than ‘Gluten-Free, Healthy Oat & Nut Balls,’ which is what they really are 😏. (It’s all in the marketing 😉). These come together in about the same time it takes to put sunscreen on three squirming children. 🐙🦎🐍. They travel well and make great picnic, lunch or beach treats too!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup hazelnuts, smashed into small bits
1/2 cup almond butter
1/2 cup chia seeds
1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 tablespoons raw cocoa
1/3 cup raw honey
1 tsp vanilla
Put all the ingredients into a large bowl and combine with your hands until everything is evenly distributed. Use a tablespoon to measure out the dough portions. Use your hands to press and form the mixture into balls. Refrigerate the leftovers!
