Ginger, whiskey, honey and lemon make for a delicious concoction that will warm you right up, helps decongest your poor nose and will give you a very welcome vitamin C kick. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re taking our hot toddy and crawling back under the covers…
Ingredients
Makes 1 toddy
1 cup water
1 inch long chunk fresh ginger, thinly sliced
juice of 1 lemon
2 tsp honey
2 tbsp whiskey
cinnamon sticks and lemon slices as garnish
Instructions
Bring the water to a simmer in a small pot and throw in the ginger slices. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how strong you want the ginger taste to be. Remove from heat and take out ginger slices. Add all the other ingredients and stir until the honey is dissolved. If you like it sweet, add another teaspoon of honey. Garnish with lemon slices and cinnamon sticks. Enjoy and feel better!
